After their last round of investment, Immfly has began a definitive international expansion, one which will allow them to position themselves as the most technologically advanced on-board digital monetization and entertainment platform within the European market
Barcelona, 17th of March 2016 – Juan Carlos Iglesias has joined Immfly, a company in which he has been involved as an advisor and investor since its creation, to lead their strategic development and international expansion. Immfly, founded in Barcelona, finds itself in a period of growth that will serve to consolidate their position as European leader in providing sales channels and entertainment for the travel industry. The most recent round of investment, successfully closed at the beginning of this year, has armed the company with a solid financial capacity, one that will allow their digital platform to lead the market for on-board e-commerce and entertainment services.
During the course of his over 20 years experience working within the tourism industry, Juan Carlos Iglesias has held senior positions at board level of companies such as Vueling, Amadeus, Privalia, Pullmantur Cruises and PGA-Portugália Airlines. At an academic level, Iglesias holds a Postgraduate Degree from IESE alongside an Executive MBA from the IE Business School, the university where he serves as a professor. He then further divides his time as a Business Angel and Senior Advisor in other entrepreneurial projects.

Iglesias’s first public appearance as a part of Immfly’s management team will be on the 4th of April in Hamburg at the Passenger Experience Conference, which will take place within the Aircraft Interiors Expo. Iglesias will underline the revenue opportunities that on-board eCommerce can offer to airlines at a time when the user is free from other distractions, plus the opportunities that trickle down during each phase of the passengers journey, pre take-off, mid-flight and post-landing.
Immfly has developed a platform for eCommerce, entertainment and connectivity on-board aircraft that allows all passengers to connect simultaneously through their handheld devices in order to purchase last-minute activities and transport for their destination mid-flight and at an special price. The channel also offers more than 100 types of sponsored entertainment (including TV programs, newspapers and news channels) along with travel guides for the principal European destinations.
The company offers airlines the chance to improve upon their customer loyalty by increasing the “Net Promoter Score” amongst passengers and creating new ancillary revenue streams through the sponsorship opportunities and eCommerce on the platform.
Iberia Express is the first airline to offer this service and next month Immfly will be installed on the entire fleet. Since their initial installation, Immfly has made more than 13.500 commercial flights, and over the last few months it has touched almost 2MM passengers.
